Lilly White

Whitens the whole gecko, leaving its colour in patches.

What it looks like

A Lilly White carries far more white and cream than usual, spreading over much of the back, belly, flanks and tail. In hatchlings, Corch Geckos looks for a solid white or cream tail, unbroken from base to tip when seen from above, slightly raised white scales on the flanks, and white on the belly.

Many are born yellowish or orange and whiten with age, and the white keeps climbing the flanks as they grow, so a hatchling can look very different from the adult. Corch Geckos also points to icy silver eyes and, in its opinion, skin that feels softer and more velvety. Foundation Genetics finds Lilly White brightens the base colour too.

In Phantom Lillies, Corch Geckos finds most of the white is lost except low on the flanks. Lots of white on its own doesn't make a gecko a Lilly White, because other traits can give similar coverage.

Before you pair this

Pairing two Lilly Whites can produce the two-copy form, which breeders report is nonviable. Foundation Genetics describes these babies struggling to breathe, move and feed, and usually living only a couple of days to a week. Its 2026 update also reports Sorak, Super Cappuccino with Lilly White, as lethal, usually within about two years, and advises against producing it.

Notes

How it is inheritedBreeders treat Lilly White as incomplete dominant: one copy gives the Lilly White look. On that model, about half the babies from a Lilly and a non-Lilly are Lilly White, and these pairings can give a whole range of whites and creams. Siblings that don't show it aren't counted as hidden carriers: Foundation Genetics says they can simply go by their own morph, or be labelled 'non-Lilly sibling' if you want to record the relationship, which helps keep them from being paired back to related Lillies. Pairing two Lilly Whites can produce the two-copy form described under health below.

Where it came fromNick Lumb of Lilly Exotics in the United Kingdom is credited with establishing Lilly White and coining the name, starting from an unusual white, creamy hatchling in late 2010. He bred it to several females a couple of years later and found the look passed on. This history comes from later project accounts such as Corch Geckos'.

Lilly White is incomplete dominant in the game. One copy is the ordinary Lilly White. Two copies stand for the reported nonviable form, so the game will not make a pairing that could produce them. A Lilly White is named for its Lilly White alone: Lilly White, Tiger Lilly with Tiger, Phantom Lilly White with Phantom, Axanthic Lilly White with Axanthic, or Axanthic Tiger Lilly White with both. Everything else it carries stays in its genes, passes to its young and is listed as carried in a pairing preview. About one in a hundred Lilly Whites carrying Dalmatian shows a single spot, and is named Lilly White Dalmatian.
