What it looks like
Dalmatian adds distinct dark spots over the body and pattern. Two copies (Super Dalmatian) add many more, larger spots. Spots stay off the chin and the eye.
This page shows Dalmatian drawn from its genes. For the written reference, inheritance tables and breeder notes, see the crested gecko morph guide on ReptiDex.

In depth
Adds distinct black/dark spots throughout the body and pattern. Dominant trait with additive effects in homozygous animals producing more/denser spotting. Creates a speckled or spotted appearance overlaid on existing patterns.
How to spot it
Look for distinct dark spots or speckles distributed across the body and pattern.
Where it came from
Dalmatian was identified early as a simple dominant trait.
How it is inherited
Incomplete dominant: one copy shows, and two copies show more strongly.
Written as DAL+ and dal
Dalmatian expression increases in intensity in homozygous animals. Can combine with other pattern traits. Source: Foundation Genetics Part 1. Spot density also varies polygenically within each genotype.
Morphs it takes part in
Confettitakes some work
Pinstripe dorsal ridge with scattered Dalmatian spots overlaid. Spot density varies by individual. Visually distinct from either Dalmatian or Pinstripe alone.
Needs Dalmatian, Pinstripe.
Ink Spottakes some work
Extremely dense spotting. Spots are large and may merge into blotches across the dorsum and sides. Noticeably more intense than single-copy Dalmatian.
Needs Dalmatian.
