Who may use Gecktopia

Gecktopia is operated by Built by Dusty, a sole proprietorship operated by Dusty Mumphrey. Reach it at support@gecktopia.com.

You need to be at least 13 to use this site. If you are under 18, you may read, use the builder and join the Hatch List with a parent or guardian’s agreement, but you may not buy anything.

Founder purchases and any future paid feature require you to be at least 18. If you are under 18, ask an adult to buy on your behalf rather than using their card without asking.

What the renderer is, and is not

The builder and the morph library draw illustrations of how genes tend to show on a crested gecko. They are a teaching tool and a game, not a veterinary, breeding, or purchasing authority.

A render is not a promise about any real animal. Do not use it to value a gecko, to guarantee what a pairing will produce, to verify what an animal carries, or to settle a dispute with a breeder or a buyer. Real animals vary, real genetics are still being worked out, and this site can be wrong.

Where the game departs from what the research supports, that is a deliberate choice made for play rather than an assertion about biology.

What you may do with the images

Geckos you generate are yours to share, post and use, including commercially. A link back is appreciated and not required.

The underlying artwork, the renderer, the morph library text and the Gecktopia name remain the property of Built by Dusty. Please do not copy the artwork or the renderer itself to build a competing tool, and do not present Gecktopia’s output as an official record of a real animal.

Using it fairly

Do not:

• Attempt to break, overload, or find your way into parts of the site that are not public.
• Scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other people.
• Use it to harass anyone, or to impersonate Gecktopia or its operator.

If you find a security problem, please email support@gecktopia.com rather than publishing it. You will get a reply and a thank you.

Buying things

Founder purchases have their own terms, including how refunds work and what happens if the game is never finished. Read the founder terms before you buy. They form part of these terms.

No guarantees

Gecktopia is provided as it is. It is unfinished software made by one person, it may be unavailable, it may lose data, and it may be wrong. To the extent the law allows, Built by Dusty is not liable for losses arising from using it, and any liability is limited to what you have actually paid.

Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be signed away.

Changes and contact

These terms may change as the game is built. The date at the top says when they last did, and material changes are announced to the Hatch List. How your information is handled is set out in the privacy policy.
