Oil Spot
Faded marks that hollow out as they grow.

Oil spots are faded rather than solid. The gecko's own colour reads through them, which is what separates them from ordinary Dalmatian spotting at a glance.
They change shape with size. A small one is densest in the middle and fades out to nothing; a large one is hollow in the middle with a darker edge, so the base colour shows through the centre.
Some people call them green spots, but a crested gecko carries no green pigment. These are black spots that never finished developing, so they read as a washed grey-olive.
They are their own marks, so a gecko needs no Dalmatian spotting to have them, though the two sit together happily.
One part is not drawn yet: oil spots come and go as an animal fires up and down, and nothing in the game has a fire state.

A light Oil Spot draws small, soft marks. A heavy one draws larger marks too, and those read as rings with the gecko's colour showing through the middle.
