The rules

Six simple rules that keep the community friendly.

We read every report within 48 hours

A real person reads it. Your report stays private, and the keeper is never told who sent it.

  1. 1Be someone people want to answer
    Talk about ideas, not people. Everyone here is learning, so a kind word goes a long way.
  2. 2Ask once, and tag it Question
    Post each question once and tag it Question, so keepers who know the answer can find it. Mark the comment that helps most as the answer.
  3. 3Say when you are selling
    Market talk is for what things are worth. If a post is about a gecko you are selling, say so in it. Listings themselves belong on the market.
  4. 4Up to three links in a post
    Up to three links per post keeps the boards easy to read. The composer lets you know as you go.
  5. 5Keep private things private
    Please do not share anyone’s real name, address or private messages. Keeping each other safe matters most.
  6. 6Keep it to the geckos in the game
    The boards are for the geckos in Gecktopia. Please keep any talk of buying or selling real animals off the boards.

What happens when one is broken

A post is hidden
it reads Removed by a moderator, and you keep your own copy and the reason
Comments are closed
everything on the post stays readable and nobody can comment
Posting is suspended
for 7 to 30 days. The rest of the game carries on as normal the whole time
Reporting is throttled
reports are for things that break these rules, so the team can help where it matters most
